Walsingham (to the full title Little Walsingham) occurs as little market town (population 864) inside Norfolk, England, famed for its religious shrines in honour of the Virgin Mary. It contains a ruins of deuce mediaeval monastic houses.
Mid-halfway between Norwich and Kings Lynn, Walsingham became a major centre of pilgrimage in the 11th century, following the vision of the Virgaround Mary to Saxon noblewoman, Richeldis diamond state Faverches in 1061.
